Hello Elder Wright!!!:)
I am so happy things are going well with you. I love you and your
choice to serve a mission. I am so proud of your decision to serve the
Lord. It is lonely here without you. I keep expecting you to walk in
whistling or singing.

Mauri!
First week everyone! It has been so amazing to get into that routine
even though it's only 2 days of experience. The first day we were in
class was terrible. He only spoke in Kirabati and I was like
"what...in...the...world?!" I've started to learn some words so at least
I know some. The meals are alright and my companions are nice! My
companion Elder Robishaw-Denton
has the same last name as my first name so that's sooo cool. He's very
nice and we all have no idea what we're doing. My second companion is elder
Tollefson. He is the District leader. We have learned about missionary
life and how to make the transition easier. The dorms are very old. The
beds are not that great but it's perfect practice for my beds out in the
mission. I can't get used to sleeping in beds because we don't have any
out there! But the pronunciation is coming easy. Just the words and
hearing them are difficult. But we are trying our hardest. All 7 of us
missionaries got here the same day. So we are all completely out of it.
We just walk around in a little herd and the 2 sisters going to our
mission stick with the other sisters going to the Pacific. In our
meeting we had with our branch, the other missions were all these huge
guys or Polynesian guys and the Kiribati guys are all small and white.
It's so funny. But I can't wait to get out there and meet the people and
be immersed in the language.

Mauri
everyone! This past week has been super fun. We had our P-Day and we
went to the temple! We did Initiatories. There were tons of people so we
had to wait for like an hour. It was crazy. The food is good. Nobody
has gotten sick yet so that's a plus.
Our classes
are crazy! We all finally understand what the teacher is saying but we
can't say it ourselves. But the language is coming along. I have all the
words I need to make sentences but I don't know the order that they go
in hahahaha! We have played soccer and beach volleyball. We like beach
volleyball the best. We usually play with the fijians. But they have a
lot more athletic guys than my district so we usually have to split up
the teams. So far we have had 3 teachers. Brother Pettingilll, Brother
miller, and yesterday our investigator revealed himself to be our third
teacher, brother farley. I took a picture with him because I was going
to ask someone if they knew who he was but I was too late.
Our
room is very old. But it's super fun. There's Nimaua(five) of us in one
room and uoua(2) of us in another. We have a blast talking every night.
But the thing is is that we can't ever fall asleep because our room is
right next to the tongan's room and they sing all night long. But we
wake up to the sound of them singing too?! Idk how they do it but... I
had to buy a shirt and the only one they had in my size was an
indonesian one! haha So i'm repping another country but it's fine.
On
sunday, Our branch had meetings pretty much all day. But at the end
there was a devotional. It was amazing. It was pretty much life
changing. We listened to a talk by David A. Bednar. He gave a talk on
the character of christ. It was amazing. He said that one of the
characteristics of christ is that he always turned outward when others
would've turned inward. He also told a story of a woman who's daughter
died but no spoilers. If you want to know go watch it! haha
But overall the mtc has been very slow. We all can't wait to get out there. One of our elders
is having some health issues so if you can all pray for him that would
be great. I love you all and can't wait to get out into the mission
field!
Tiabo!
