Denton's Marshall Islands Mission

2/18/18 This week was an amazing week. I love it. My investigator who I taught who got married last week was baptized on the past saturday. I'm so excited! He is so prepared for the work the lord has for him. He is so nice. He says that I now have a family in Kiribati! haha I love them so much! I was able to do the baptism. I was so happy to be the person to baptize Tearo! He was so prepared and loves the gospel and his wife and his daughter. It went beautifully well. His testimony was amazing and he is a great man. This transfer I am moving to a new area. I am moving to an island in the south of Kiribati. It is calllleeeedd.......... TABITEUEA MEANG!!!(land of kings, north) I will be working with Elder Lomaloma. Turns out that Elder hoggan is going out there as well so now there will be 4 elders out there. He is from my same intake and I cannot wait to go out there with him. Just a little heads up for you all. I will have internet but I'm on an islan...

2/11/18 Mauri O au utu ao raoraou aika mwaiti!!! It's been a great week! one for the books(as i'd say)  This week I had to plan a wedding!! never thought I'd be diong that on my mission. It was for one of my investigators. He is so cool. his name is tearo. His baptism is this week!!!! Can't wait. Also the wedding went off without a hitch!! haha call me the wedding planner. We got her a dress and a cake and drinks and we did a dance for them. I'll see if i can send the video next week.  We got 4 new investigators this week. And a potential family. So we are doing great!! Me and elder sagapolu are perfect comps. He eats a ton and i eat a little. so when i'm done eating he just eats my food.haha Still sleeping on the ground on a kie. a woven mat. Back still feels amazing(not lying) we cleaned our well for our house. so it still smells bad though. love you family and ill see yall next week. elder koroboki

2/4/18 This week was very fun! Me and elder sagapolu finally get to work together. We have been working very hard. We have been teaching a lot of lessons and trying to find a lot of people. The lord has blessed us for our hard work. This week the sisters in our area had 4 baptisms!!!! That is so crazy!! (The power of having a kiribati sister is REAL) HAHA They are working so hard and they are doing amazing work. This week I had the best meal I've had here yet. They bought steak and pinaple. But this was the most fresh best juciest scrumptiousest pinaple I've ever had in my entire life. The steak was like heaven as well. haha This week my first convert Rakera is going to Nauru to make money so she can send her kids to school. Her husband and son have passed away and it's just her. So we are way proud of her. This week we had tons of fun. We have been trying to get more and more lessons with our people. They are all progressing very well and they are ...

1/28/18 This week has been such a good one. The work here is so amazing!! The people are so prepared by the lord. They are so ready to hear the message. This last week a lot has happened soi'll jump right in! This week we did a blitz in the sisters area and there was a jehova's witness member who wanted to bible bash but we just told him if he really wants to know the truth he would read our book to see if we're right or wrong. And that he could prove us wrong if he read our book. I hope he read it. haha We also had an ambassador from america come. She has only come here 4 times in 5 years . Goes to show how much she cares. We asked her what she was doing to help and she said that they are going to be doing a service for the military in november. So there's that. She was way nice. We were specially invited me and elder jubeck. There was the AP's another companionship and me and elder jubeck. So that was way fun. We also got some free food which...

12/17/17 Hey matre! I'm doing much better. The food isn't disagreeing with me as much. I love it here. It is so beautiful and the people are so nice. the language is coming along faster. Our apartment is super dirty. But i only have one companion. Cute! I hope you took pitcures of that putting the ornaments on the tree. I want to see some. I have many pictures of me and elder jackson. I also got to split with elder jubeck! He looks exactly like my friend sam hess. that has been a good like comfort. He reminds me so much of him. Take good care of riley. I miss that dog so much. We have taught more lessons and we had another baptism this week! A woman got baptized and hopefully her husband is next week. But we'll have to see. He has some issues witht the word of wisdom so we'll see how that goes. I'll let you know some other stuff that happened this week. 1/14/18 This week was super duper fun!!! The people are still way nice as ever. The old people are so respected here. The people are all sitting in a circle and an old man will walk in the room. They will all yell mauri te unimwane!!!!(mauri old man!!!!) I love it. They are always smiling and they are way funny! The people here are way nice. I can carry on conversations now with people. But I'm still learning every day! I'm still working in Bikenibeu. I got a new companion!!! His name is elder sagapolu! He is from america but his family is from hawaii and samoa. He is way big. So when we are biking around people see a giant brown samoan and then this tiny 5'8" white guy and they start laughing. I love the work with him. He is so great. He is way boss at getting us dinners. 1/7/18 This week has been good and sad! My companion elder jackson just got secretly bumped up to zone leader and now i'm without a companion for the next couple of days. So for now i'm doing splits with elder jubeck and Sagapolu! But the work here is going very good. Our people are so great. This week President monson died. In case you didn't hear. I went to bairiki and went to the prison! don't worry for a good reason.... kinda. I wanted to get a hammock so we went over there and they make bwai ni kiribati and hammocks and cool stuff.  I had my first real bootaki! We went at 3 and it didn't start til 7. haha time in kiribati! They had a wedding and they invited us. We made up a dance and I may upload it some time. They loved it when we danced. They could not stop cracking up. The food was lined all around us on tables just bowls and bowls and bowls of food. I love the mini bananas. I grabbed like 10 from the bowl of those. haha. I loved ...
